He completed his undergraduate degree in Anthropology-Zoology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and went on to attend the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten. He returned to the Detroit area and did three years of General Surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI then moved on to a Family Medicine residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI where he was Chief Resident his final year. He remained in the Detroit area for several years, working at urgent care centers, opening Blue Amber Medical Spa and then returned to doing primary care. Dr. Sosa moved to Florida in 2009 to take a primary care position with BayCare Medical Group in Westchase, where he practiced comprehensive primary care to teens and adults for over nine years. In 2017, he was part of the inaugural class to become Board Certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. In 2019, he started Tampa’s first Direct Primary Care Lifestyle Medicine practice, Botaniq Health, where he passionately focuses on primary care, lifestyle transformation, medical weight loss, and minimally invasive aesthetics. Dr. Sosa is an avid sports and movie enthusiast, fitness fanatic, he loves traveling, and follows a vegan diet. He and his wife, Kimberly, are the proud parents of four wonderful children in a blended family.
