About Dr. Michael Badger

Many members of my family are deeply committed to service through healthcare. Wanting to follow in their footsteps, I knew I was interested in a medical career from a young age. Once I started exploring different specialties, family medicine quickly stood out to me. I enjoy the diversity this specialty brings, and am honored to care for patients of all ages. Patients deserve not just a provider, but a team of providers caring for them. That's why I work with other clinicians and my patients themselves to form that team. I want my patients empowered to push back when they don't feel comfortable with a care decision. In those cases, I am committed to listening to their reasoning and concerns, and working with them to make a decision right for them. My beautiful wife, Jennifer, and I have been married for nearly 30 years. She works in pharmaceutical sales. Together, we have 2 children, Annie and Henry, both out of the house. When I am not spending time with my family, I enjoy exercise of any type. I golf whenever I get the chance, and I also love watching sports, especially UNC. Go Tarheels!
