“Dr. Kanabar is a phenomenal doctor! I was a bit nervous at first, however she was very reassuring and I felt completely at ease having my procedure done by her. Every time I see her for an appointment I leave feeling like all of my questions have been answered. I also know that I can contact her if I ever have any other questions and will receive an answer in a timely manner. I can’t say enough about what an excellent doctor she is! ”

About Dr. Reena Kanabar
Philosophy of Care
My philosophy is to provide compassionate, informative care so that patients can make well-informed decisions about their medical treatment. I strive to build solid relationships with my patients, allowing this trust to be the foundation of their care.
Why I Entered Medicine
I chose to pursue a career in OB/GYN because it allows me to care for women throughout their entire spectrum of gynecologic needs. From a personal standpoint, this field offers a varied workday—from seeing patients in the office to being in the operating room to helping deliver babies—which I enjoy immensely. The best part of my job is bearing witness to and playing a small role in bringing new life into the world. Being part of this process with delivering mothers and their families is an incredible honor and privilege.
Education and Training
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College, followed by a Master’s in Nutritional Biochemistry and Physiology and a Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University. I completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Community & Charity Involvement
Before moving to the Lehigh Valley, I helped run a free medical clinic in Massachusetts and volunteered as an EMT in Lancaster County.
Personal Interests
I enjoy running after my 18-month-old nephew and my new rescue puppy. Other interests include hiking, traveling, and reading. In a past life, I was a drummer.

Dr. Kanabar is the kindest and most involved doctor I have ever met. She cares about your comfort, remembers details from other visits, and reaches out personally to check in on you if you had a difficult appointment. She is the only gynecologist I will ever see.

Dr. Kanabar is an excellent doctor. She takes the time to talk with you about any concerns and is able to answer any questions you might have. She recommends any follow up care she thinks might be necessary.

Dr Kanabar has an absolute great bed-side manner. She makes you feel comfortable. She listens and speaks with concern to what you are telling her, with her full attention and does not have a sense that you are taking up too much of her time.
