About Dr. Sierra Anderson

Family medicine chose me as much as I chose it. A family member in medicine first planted the seed, but what kept me rooted was the realization that this specialty lets me be an advocate for patients of all ages. It gives me room to grow in my medical expertise while also growing alongside the people I care for, with empathy and grace. I approach healthcare as my ministry. It is not simply a career but a calling, and I bring that sense of purpose to every patient encounter. My goal is to be an advocate, a resource and a source of hope for the people I serve. Each day is a gift, and that is the spirit I carry into my work. Research has been a meaningful part of my professional journey since my undergraduate years, when I completed my senior thesis on microbiology and evidence for genomic development. From there, my research experience expanded to include clinical research in neuromuscular disease at the University of California, Irvine. I have also contributed to publications spanning topics from child abuse to hepatitis disease. That work has deepened my appreciation for evidence-based medicine and its role in keeping patient care current and effective. Outside of medicine, my faith and my family are at the center of my life. I am from Los Angeles, where I met my husband, and we have a daughter. When I am not at work, you will find me spending time with my family, serving in my church or exploring somewhere new. Snowboarding is a seasonal tradition my husband and I make a point to keep, and when the sun is out, the beach is where we want to be. Puzzles, movies and board games round out the rest of my free time.
