Dr. Stewart Trimble, MD

Primary Care Doctor
570 Long Point Rd, Ste 130, Mount Pleasant, SC
My path to medicine was not a traditional one; I chose the field later than most. After having worked at nature camps teaching, taking people on outdoor adventures and leading team-building exercises, I was ready for a change. I liked helping people encounter and overcome intimidating events in their lives but wanted to make a bigger impact. A close family member was diagnosed with a life-altering chronic disease early in life, and that had sparked an interest in medicine. When I was looking to try out a new career, I went back to that interest and pursued a medical degree. Understanding my patients' health is a type of detective work. I look for environmental and emotional reasons for health concerns alongside medical reasons. I also find it important to consider many possible remedies. Along with medicine and surgeries, oftentimes lifestyle changes, diet changes and the addition of dietary supplements can improve overall health. All of these elements should work together to help my patients achieve the best health possible. Bicycling and hiking in the mountains keep me outside and active when I am not at work. They also remind me of my nature camp days! One day, I would like to learn to play pickleball. Since I love the outdoors so much, I am dedicated to the environmental issues of conservation and protection so others can enjoy the outdoors as well.
