I've always been intellectually curious and loved science. I chose to pursue medicine primarily because I wanted to help people live healthier lives. It's a bonus that medicine, since it's always evolving, gives me the opportunity to constantly learn and stay engaged. My approach to healthcare is a collaborative one. I want to know what my patients' health goals and desires are. Part of my role as a doctor is to also be a teacher. I enjoy educating patients so they can make informed decisions about their health. I also enjoy my role as lead clinician at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Associates. Medicine is a science, but doctors can't neglect the human side of it. I think I have a gift for connecting with people. A big part of that involves meeting patients where they are and speaking in language they understand rather than "doctorspeak." I treat patients with the same respect and care I hope other physicians provide my own family. I am a lifelong learner, a lover of music and books and a physical fitness proponent. I want to be impactful in my community, and I do that by being active in organizations that address social needs and inequities.
