Growing up, I watched my uncle build a career as an internal medicine physician and saw firsthand the difference he made in people's lives. The trust and respect his patients had for him inspired me to pursue medicine so I could give back to my community in the same way. I am proud to be the first female physician in my family. Internal medicine allows me to build long-term relationships with patients, support them through different stages of life and care for the whole person. The variety and intellectual challenge of the specialty keep me engaged and learning as medicine continues to evolve. My goal is to provide care that is compassionate, evidence-based and centered around each patient's individual needs. One of the most important parts of good healthcare, in my view, is listening carefully and making sure patients feel heard. I take time to walk through treatment options, answer questions and involve patients in shared decision-making so we can build a plan together. Open communication and accountability are at the heart of how I practice. I was honored to receive the Novant Health Guardian Angel Award, which recognizes physicians who make a meaningful difference through compassionate care. I am board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and am an active member of the American College of Physicians. To stay current with the latest advances in the field, I regularly attend conferences and continuing medical education. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my husband and trying new experiences. My hobbies range from pottery, painting and making perfumes to hiking, traveling and designing our home. Creative activities with friends are a favorite way to recharge, and I'm always up for a board game and making lasting memories with family.
