Getting to know Aaron Jimenez

I am Aaron Jimenez and I am a psychotherapist (LMFT) who graduated from Pepperdine University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. My clinical expertise has been honed at AIDS Project Los Angeles and The Los Angeles LGBT Center, two widely renowned sites where I served the diverse populations of Los Angeles in the company of exceptionally skilled colleagues. I have also had the pleasure of volunteering as a therapist supervisor to a teen suicide hotline at Cedars-Sinai, where I work with remarkable teenagers who answer calls from other teens in crisis. I combine this professional knowledge with my own personal experience to create a safe and encouraging space for clients to grow, process and gain insight. In working with a variety of clients of all generations, ethnicities, and socio economic backgrounds, I have developed an ability to be an empathetic listener, which, combined with a client centered focus, allows me to collaborate with clients to create treatment goals that take a proactive approach towards healing and growth. My work has expanded to teaching in Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology, guest lecturing on LGBT counseling /non violent crisis intervention, and consulting on the intersection of BIPOC Identity and Mental Health, all of which has proved to be incredibly rewarding.
