Hi there, I'm Aaron! I am a licensed counselor in the states of Nevada and New York with 6 years of practice. I enjoy working with clients on really "going there," and getting to the main problem as soon as possible. My approach My two primary approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). ACT has a focus on new learning experiences, self-compassion, mindfulness, and living your life to your fullest potential. EMDR is a rapid trauma processing approach. Not all clients will be appropriate for immediate EMDR. My focus Are you are feeling lost, unsure how to proceed, or need support in making a change? I am happy to create a personalized treatment plan for your needs. Recovering from trauma, substance abuse, depression, or anxiety can be a vulnerable journey, and I'm honored to be a part of that path. Learning strategies and emotionally navigating ADHD and autism also requires certain awareness that I bring to the table, so that you can make informed and realistic decisions about change. My communication style I have worked hard to strike a balanced style (directive and nondirective), and I work continuously to help you determine what style is going to be most effective for you in that moment. In ACT, our main goal is "flexibility," and I do my best to embody that during the session in terms of how much we both lead the session. My journey to mental healthcare Growing up, I always had a sense that I wanted to be an artist and teacher. I have been grateful to have the opportunity to do both as a counselor, and realized quickly in my graduate program back in 2017 that counseling was the perfect role for me.
