Hi there, I'm Abigail! I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor living in northeast Florida with my husband and our little dog, Libby. I graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with my Master's in Counseling in 2011 and have been counseling for over 15 years. I am passionate about normalizing life's struggles and helping others heal, be whole, and live a life of resilience! My approach I believe each person is unique, so my approach to therapy is based on you, your goals, and how you respond to the process. Healing often comes in layers and is a process. Counseling can feel frightening as you begin to talk about yourself and those layers start to reveal. This is normal and it is okay. I encourage my clients not to fear struggling through the discomfort of healing because restoration awaits on the other side. Struggle is a normal part of life, but it's important to know how to live within it and overcome it. I love the quote from my favorite TV show, Lost: “Struggle is nature's way of strengthening us.” I want to help my clients process the struggle and move through it with hope, faith, resiliency, and a deeper awareness of self and others. I believe every person, no matter their struggle or vulnerability, has great worth and has been created in love, by Love. With this in mind, I believe it's possible to live a full life regardless of what is going on or what we are feeling and struggling with. I really enjoy helping my clients explore what this “full life” looks like for them and how they can embrace it despite pain, vulnerability, or obstacles. Hope and healing are possible-living fully is possible. I use an eclectic series of approaches to help my clients live this reality of hope and joy. These may include cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, spiritual formation, 12 steps, and journaling.
