Hello and Welcome! My name is Abigail Longpre, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from IU Indianapolis. I strive to create a safe and comfortable space for therapy. I work with both adolescents and adults and specialize in supporting queer individuals, neurodivergent individuals, and those experiencing chronic illness, mood disorders, and complex trauma. My approach I believe in a collaborative and eclectic approach to therapy. I utilize a mixture of DBT, ACT, and CBT techniques in my practice and adapt my methods based on each person's unique needs. My focus I specialize in working with chronic illness, Autism, ADHD, Tourette's/tic disorders, mood disorders, chronic suicidality, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and complex trauma (including C-PTSD and PTSD). I also have experience supporting individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder and psychosis. My communication style We are in this together, so I encourage you to be honest with me about what works well or doesn't. I aim to tailor the therapeutic environment to each client's preferences?whether that means creating a calmer, more predictable space or a more unstructured one. My journey to mental healthcare Like many others, I have struggled as a member of marginalized groups and did not receive adequate care from providers. This inspired me to become someone passionate about continually growing and learning how to better support my clients. I fell in love with social work and therapy and have been in this field for the past seven years. My goals for you Our work on goals can be as structured as you want. Some clients prefer to revisit goals and track progress regularly, while others prefer less frequent check-ins. I will provide as much guidance as you need when setting and working toward your goals!
