Abigail Paquette, LISW

Psychotherapist
OH
Welcome. I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with a Master of Social Work and a degree in psychology from The Ohio State University. With over five years of experience in mental and behavioral health—including four years of providing therapy—I offer a safe, inclusive space for healing and growth. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, or identity-related challenges, I’m here to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered in your journey. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. I offer a trauma-informed, client-centered approach grounded in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and approaches that help uncover hidden patterns influencing your feelings and behaviors. This means our work will honor both your present struggles and your past experiences, while staying focused on what’s most important to you now. Therapy with me is collaborative and adaptable—we go at your pace, build trust together, and explore what works best for you as an individual.

What should a new client know about working with you?

While I welcome clients of all ages, my work often focuses on adolescents, young adults, and individuals exploring identity, life transitions, or mental health challenges. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, questioning your sense of self, or trying to find relief from persistent thoughts or emotional pain—I can help. I have experience supporting those navigating anxiety, depression, self-harm behaviors, suicidal ideation, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. (intellectual disabilities) My goal is to help you feel grounded, validated, and capable of creating meaningful change in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients describe me as warm, approachable, and thoughtful. I aim to create a space where you can speak freely, without fear of judgment. Depending on your needs, I can offer gentle supportive listening or take a more direct solution-focused approach. My style is flexible because I believe therapy should feel like it fits you. I’ll always meet you where you are, with compassion, honesty, and respect.
