What should a new client know about working with you?

You will find that I am a very patient listener allowing a person to express what is truly going on in their life. I work with you, the individual, to help you strengthen any areas of mental health or other situations affecting your daily life. There are a multitude of methods to assist people, but your needs are personalized to you and your situation. My goal is to assist with improving your daily life by utilizing effective methods that we may need to approach.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My counseling experience consists of working with the mental health and substance abuse populations with individuals that possess a DSM-V diagnosis. This includes assisting in enhanced services such as intensive in-home and community support services. I have also provided counseling in the outpatient setting as well that includes both mental health and substance abuse populations. My current service offered is in the role of an outpatient therapist. I specialize in motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Techniques used throughout therapy include evidence based practices such as cognitive restructuring and reality testing. Autonomy is encouraged throughout treatment, and qualitative and quantitative goals are recognized early in order to prepare for discharge at the beginning of treatment.
