Adi Elinoff, LPCC

Psychotherapist
8120 Sheridan Blvd, Ste C-100, Westminster, CO
Hello! I work with individuals and couples navigating relationship distress, sexual concerns, and trust ruptures. My work focuses on sex therapy, infidelity and betrayal recovery, and consensual non-monogamy, including poly and ENM relationships. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, kink-aware, and committed to providing therapy that is direct, respectful, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I specialize in helping people who feel stuck in repeating cycles: the same fights, the same shutdowns, the same confusion around sex, boundaries, or trust. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, ashamed, or unsure how things got so complicated. My role is to slow things down, name what is actually happening underneath the conflict, and help you build clarity and forward movement rather than endless processing. My approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method. This means we look at both emotional patterns and concrete behaviors, while staying anchored in your values and goals. Therapy with me is collaborative and structured. I am active in sessions, offer feedback, and help translate insight into practical change. I work best with clients who want honesty, accountability, and a therapist who can talk about sex and relationships clearly without judgment or discomfort.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is engaged, direct, and focused. I do not take a passive role, and I am not a blank slate. I will ask questions, reflect patterns I notice, and often challenge you when staying stuck feels safer than changing. That said, my approach is grounded in respect and care, not confrontation for its own sake. Clients often tell me they appreciate that sessions feel organized and purposeful. We spend time understanding your emotional experience, but we also work toward clarity and action. I aim to help you understand why something is happening and what to do about it, especially in high-stakes areas like sex, trust, and communication. I work from the belief that people are not broken. Most distress makes sense once you understand the context, history, and nervous system patterns involved. Whether you are navigating betrayal, mismatched desire, non-monogamy agreements, or chronic conflict, my goal is to help you feel less overwhelmed and more capable of responding intentionally rather than reactively. You can expect a space that is sex-positive, affirming of diverse identities and relationship structures, and honest about limits and expectations. Therapy is work, but it should also feel grounding and clarifying.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Early sessions focus on understanding what brings you in and what feels most urgent. We clarify your goals, identify patterns that keep repeating, and begin mapping how emotions, behaviors, and communication interact. I pay close attention to moments where conversations escalate, shut down, or feel confusing, as these are often where the real work lives. A typical session includes a mix of discussion, reflection, and skill-building. We may slow down a recent interaction, explore emotional responses in real time, or practice new ways of communicating. In couples work, I help track the cycle you get stuck in and support both partners in staying emotionally engaged without becoming defensive or overwhelmed. I often incorporate practical tools drawn from ACT, EFT, and the Gottman Method. This might include learning how to pause conflict before it spirals, clarifying boundaries and agreements, or working with anxiety and avoidance rather than fighting against them. Sessions are collaborative and structured, but flexible based on what you bring in. Over time, the focus shifts from crisis management to strengthening patterns that support trust, intimacy, and emotional safety both inside and outside of therapy.
