Adrianna Alatorre, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi, my name is Adrianna Alatorre, a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) trained in EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness, and DBT. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Grand Canyon University and my Bachelor’s from the University of Texas, El Paso. I use my skills to alleviate issues ranging from acute symptoms to chronic problems experienced throughout the lifespan. I treat young, middle, and older adults facing common stressors and am trained to address symptoms stemming from trauma and abuse. My experience spans psychiatric facilities to private practice. My approach I offer an eclectic approach, combining Beck’s methods of challenging irrational thinking and emotional reasoning with Francine Shapiro’s trauma desensitization techniques. I provide interventions designed to heal the mind and teach skills for problem-solving, self-love, and gratitude. I educate clients on techniques to induce calmness and manage intrusive thoughts or anxiety. By developing resources and identifying stressors, clients gain skills to support recovery and manage factors stressing the mind, body, and spirit. My focus I work with conditions from chronic anxiety and depression to acute psychosis. While mostly working with adults across the lifespan, I also have experience with children and adolescents. Much of my work involves trauma from physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as recovery from domestic violence experienced in childhood or relationships. Trauma also arises from loss of health, mobility, marital issues, or the death of a loved one.
