Adrianne Adams, LICSW

Psychotherapist
MA
Hi there, I'm Adrianne! My name is Adrianne Adams, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) working with clients across Massachusetts via telehealth. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Smith College. I am eager to work with BIPOC clients and am dedicated to the healing of the Black community. Over the past six years, I have practiced in various settings including outpatient treatment, inpatient hospital units, and college counseling. I have a particular interest in supporting young adults as they navigate transitions in family, college, social, and work life. My approach I believe in the power of human connection and the potential for growth that exists within each of us. It can be difficult to take the first step toward therapy, but all that's needed to begin is showing up. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, creating a safe space where you can learn skills and tools to help increase your present awareness. I use a variety of techniques in my practice, including dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic-based therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness. I am also an EMDR Therapist in Training. This means I completed EMDR Basic Training with a focus on BIPOC populations, am receiving ongoing consultation from an EMDRIA Certified Consultant, and am able to conduct EMDR treatment sessions. My focus I specialize in helping young adult BIPOC clients both in and out of college. I can support you whether you are facing challenges like anxiety, depression, racism, or trauma; navigating life transitions; or seeking personal growth. My communication style I am warm and interactive and focus on developing a relaxed and open environment during our sessions. Embarking on the path of therapy takes courage, and I'm here to honor and support that courage throughout the process.
