Adrienne Ramirez, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Adrienne! Hello! I am Adrienne Ramirez, MS, LMFT, and I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Sacramento. My clinical focus is trauma-informed dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I and my work are a safe space for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and any marginalized community. My approach Everything I do is trauma-informed, which means I focus on behaviors, beliefs, and thoughts as responses to trauma—not “bad behavior” on your part. My approach is eclectic as needed; however, I mainly use DBT, EMDR, and IFS. My focus I am open to working with all demographics. However, I typically work with people on the PTSD spectrum (PTSD, CPTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Dissociative disorders). I have extensive experience working with abuse survivors, adult children of emotionally immature parents, narcissistic abuse, complicated grief, and anxiety/OCD. My communication style Carl Rogers, the father of client-centered therapy, coined the term “unconditional positive regard,” which means complete acceptance and a nonjudgmental outlook therapists should have toward their clients, regardless of how they feel, act, or behave. I will always offer warmth, empathy, and support—even when I am challenging you or being more direct when necessary. My journey to mental healthcare I have always had an innate desire to help others. There is deep satisfaction in supporting people through difficult times and facilitating positive changes in their lives. I have also had a fascination with human behavior, emotions, and thought processes, likely stemming from my own personal experiences witnessing the impact of mental illness on others. I have a passion for social justice and advocating for underserved communities, and as a therapist, I can now help those who otherwise would not have access to therapy.
