What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly and be yourself. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to support you rather than tell you how to live it. Together, we will identify your concerns, strengths, and goals while developing strategies that fit your individual needs. Depending on what you are experiencing, therapy may include exploring thoughts and behaviors, building coping and emotional-regulation skills, strengthening communication, developing healthier boundaries, practicing mindfulness, and increasing self-awareness.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We will discuss your concerns, history, current stressors, strengths, and what you hope to accomplish through therapy. We will work together to identify meaningful and realistic goals and develop a plan that fits your needs. In ongoing sessions, we may use talk therapy, explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, process current or past experiences, and practice practical coping strategies. Sessions are collaborative and may include CBT or DBT techniques, mindfulness, emotional-regulation skills, communication strategies, or other interventions based on your goals. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback throughout the process.
