Getting to know Aimee Severe
Hi, I am Aimee, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the San Diego area. I enjoy working with clients aged 16 and up and specialize in gender health, prenatal and postpartum care, and grief issues. I like to help pregnant and new moms make the most out of this time, finding ways to feel less anxiety and depression and more fulfillment. For people in the LGBTQ+ community, I have specialized in gender health issues since 2014 and have always been an ally. During COVID, I decided to increase my skills and knowledge in assisting people through grief and took several seminars focusing on grief work with David Kessler. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of San Diego.
What should a new client know about working with you?
After the first intake session you can expect to set up a plan and work to do in between sessions. I like to engage in a very interactive formate and help you more towards feeling improvement.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
