Hi there, I'm Aji! Does it feel hard to talk about your emotions or your mental health? We are often shamed for being “too emotional” or “too sensitive”. I am here to remind you that you are not weak for having emotions and together, we can create a safe space in which you can explore more about the issues you face and yourself in therapy. My focus Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges? I work with adults who are navigating emotional distress, life transitions, self-esteem, and people-pleasing tendencies. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build you coping skills, and help you move towards your goals. My approach I utilize person-centered, psychodynamic, and CBT approaches. The approach I use is based on what may help you in our sessions. I focus on being warm and compassionate to build a safe non-judgmental space where you can gain awareness, shift your mindset, express you feelings, and gain new tools. My communication style I focus on clear and open communication and provide empathy and warmth, so that you may feel safe to share and explore things that can make you feel shameful. You can expect me to provide support, listen to your feedback, and encourage you to reflect on your experiences to build awareness. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into therapy began with my own mental health journey. I loved being there for my friends and being someone they could talk to or rely on. I strongly believe that emotions doesn't make you weak and I want to validate and normalize having emotions and that it is okay to ask for help. My goals for you I will work with you to collaborate and create goals that matter to you, whether that is improving relationships and communication, building self-esteem, addressing people-pleasing tendencies, or other goals. We'll continue to check in on goals and adapt the plan to move towards where you want to be as you increase your awareness and insight.
