Akeri Battle, LCMHC

Psychotherapist
NC
I am a licensed therapist with over 7 years of experience specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), couples counseling, and Christian counseling. My passion is helping individuals and couples navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, emotional resilience, and purpose. In my work with individuals, I primarily use CBT to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that impact their mood and behavior. I believe in a practical, goal-oriented approach that equips clients with tools they can apply in everyday life, whether they're dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or life transitions. My sessions are collaborative and supportive, creating a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. With couples, I focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and resolving conflict in ways that foster deeper connection. I draw from evidence-based methods like the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, tailoring the process to fit each couple's unique dynamic. For those who desire a faith-based approach, I also offer Christian counseling. I integrate biblical principles, prayer, and spiritual reflection into the therapeutic process when appropriate. This allows for holistic healing that honors both emotional and spiritual needs, offering hope and a stronger sense of purpose. What sets my practice apart is my commitment to creating a warm, judgment-free environment where real change can take place. I see therapy as a partnership‚one that honors your story, builds on your strengths, and supports you in becoming the person or couple you're called to be. Whether you're facing a specific struggle or simply seeking to grow, I'm here to walk with you through the process. Healing is possible, and you don't have to go through it alone.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider's self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan's benefits.
