Al O'Connor, LMHC

Psychotherapist
MA
I am so glad you're here! I am an LMHC with over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I support teens and adults looking to slow down to take stock of their needs as well as folks navigating anxiety, depression, life stressors, and more. I would be honored to join with you as you begin and/or continue your therapy journey. My approach I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs and concerns. I use evidence-based approaches and a person-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based lens. My goal is to help you explore challenges and to create a space where you feel empowered to develop personal insights and compassion for yourself. My focus While I have an interest and specialty in working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent teens and adults, I am experienced in supporting folks with many different challenges and concerns. We will pace and structure our sessions together in a way that helps you feel most grounded, so you have time to think, process, and breathe. My communication style My therapeutic style is warm, engaged, relational, and collaborative. I trust that you are the expert on yourself. I offer reflective feedback and a safe, nonjudgmental presence while we work through and explore challenges together. My goals for you Therapeutic goals are often fluid and ever-evolving. Sometimes needs come into clearer focus as we explore other thoughts and feelings. In our sessions, we will check in regularly on how you feel we are doing together and whether new needs and goals are emerging. My first session with you Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, and for you to explore whether this feels like the right fit for you. I'll invite you to share some of what you would like me to know about you. We won't be able to cover everything on the first day, but we will begin to establish a path for us to navigate? in our work together.?
