CA
Hi there, I'm Alan! My name is Alan Schweizer, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in CA and PA. I hold an MEd in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. The focus of my practice is to help clients identify and overcome the barriers in their personal lives and relationships needed to experience more happiness. My approach The foundation of all healing is client-centered (or humanistic), which means being attentive, empathetic, and nonjudgmental of everyone. In helping you, I use evidence-based practices such as Integrative and Systemic Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, Existential, Emotion Focused, Mindfulness, and Mind-Body practices that are action-oriented and tailored to your specific needs. My focus I work with anyone who has the desire to make positive changes in their life and is open to getting help doing it. My 20+ years of experience have afforded me comfort and expertise in treating a wide range of conditions. My communication style The environment I strive to create for all clients is safe, nonjudgmental, honest, attentive, present, and collaborative. Clients feel safe, attended to, valued, heard, and helped. I help clients find ways together that meet your individual goals in ways you can feel confident, aware, and able to achieve in your personal life and relationships. My journey to therapy I grew up in an inner city and experienced and saw a lot of pain, despair, and hopelessness in the world. I became committed at an early age to helping people always find ways to overcome those challenges and find their own true positive identity, purpose, and happiness. My goals for you Setting goals is a collaborative process that starts with meeting and discussing how clients are being negatively impacted or prevented from accomplishing goals. Goal setting continues as we get to know each other-me getting to know you, your experiences and history, and your style of thinking and interacting.
