Getting to know Alex Goitein

Choosing therapy can be a challenging, exciting, and uncharted journey. I have been working with families and individuals over the past ten years to navigate these experiences. I began my career as an in-home behaviorist, helping improve the lives of families and children impacted by autism and developmental disabilities. I then transitioned to a school setting, where I support teachers, administrators, families, and students facing behavioral and mental health challenges. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Rhode Island College, which has deepened my understanding and approach to therapy. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, suicidality, autism spectrum, attention difficulties, executive functioning challenges, gender identity, and much more. I believe it is important to be eclectic but selective—having knowledge of many therapeutic modalities while understanding which approach works best for each individual situation. I have utilized models such as Applied Behavior Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Trauma-Focused Interventions, Strategic Brief Therapy, and others. The foundation of therapy is a trusting, non-judgmental relationship where you can feel comfortable expressing yourself. Seeking and maintaining balance takes resilience, skills, and perseverance. My goal is to work with you by encouraging your resilience, developing your skills, and partnering in the process of developing and actualizing your ideal self.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to accept clients for where they are and investigate and understand where they want to be. Validation is an essential part of growth and helps propel us into change and action toward our desired values. My desire is that you will feel seen, heard, and more insightful about whatever brought you to therapy. Therapy is a joint venture, I will work to empower you to pursue actionable steps towards your values and goals.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
