Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Alexander Gilburd, and I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2020 and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 2022. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. I approach therapy with a diverse style to find the appropriate fit for each individual. I generally focus on helping people challenge their thinking to live their lives to their full potential. I have extensive experience treating Substance Use Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, and Bipolar Disorder, as well as providing couples and family therapy. My approach I believe in a multifaceted approach! I am a strong proponent of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because I believe that practicing how we change our thinking is where it all starts. Additionally, I enjoy applying a Solution-Focused approach to empower individuals to discover their own solutions and learn how to prioritize their personal goals and dreams. Over time, I strive to create a warm, nurturing atmosphere that incorporates elements of a Psychodynamic approach, helping clients analyze past relationship patterns and how they persist throughout life in order to change them for the better. For couples, I utilize techniques from Gottman Couples Therapy to help increase intimacy and improve communication. My focus I have worked with a diverse set of populations over the years. I feel comfortable treating individuals struggling with Substance Use Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorders, Schizophrenia, most types of Trauma, and OCD. Additionally, I am skilled in helping couples and families improve communication with each other.
