Alexis Evans, LPC

Psychotherapist
MD
Hi! I'm Alexis, and I am glad you are here! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the DMV with over 12 years of experience in care coordination and counseling. I've worked with individuals navigating a wide range of concerns — from anxiety and relationship trauma to life transitions and unexpected turns. I’ve earned a Master's in Mental Health Counseling and a Master's in Nonprofit Management, and that dual background shapes how I work. I care about practical outcomes as much as I care about the therapeutic process — which means you'll leave sessions with more than just insight. You'll leave with practical methods to apply to your real life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe healing starts with understanding — understanding yourself, your patterns, the stories you've been carrying, and how they're showing up in your life right now. My approach is integrative, which means I draw from multiple evidence-based frameworks depending on what you need: CBT, DBT, ACT, attachment-based work, and trauma-informed care. What that looks like in practice: Sessions that are structured but not rigid, warm but direct, and always focused on helping you move from overwhelmed and reactive to intentional and emotionally aware.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy at Intentional Living Psychotherapy is primarily guided by you. We'll spend time talking, uncovering patterns, and processing whatever is most important to you — with practical tools and skills woven throughout so the work extends beyond our sessions. Progress looks different for everyone, but the goal is always to help you move toward a life that feels more intentional, regulated, and yours.tions to support their professional and personal growth.
