What should a new client know about working with you?

At Empowering Families Counseling we help parents who feel that they are struggling with managing their child’s behavior and anxiety stop the feelings of guilt, loss of control, and frustration by demonstrating how to best approach the uncertainties of parenthood. Like our clients, we want to offer you and your family guidance on how to feel empowered with parenting your child. If you want to improve your child’s behavior while feeling secure about how you parent, we’d love to get you there. It is important to note that therapy is a process that takes time and practice. We’re excited to work with clients who are ready to take action and view therapy as a vehicle to get them to their destination. We look forward to collaborating with you!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our initial session will give you the space to explain your concerns on a more detailed level. This will allow the therapist the opportunity to understand what your needs are and how to how to effectively meet your goals for therapy. Our parent coaching sessions are designed to provide live coaching support for parents. Receive in the moment feedback and guidance as you interact with your child during your virtual session. The added benefit of a virtual format for parent training is that the family is being coached in their home environment where these problem behaviors occur naturally. This allows families to gain insight on how to use skills taught in a more realistic environment which lends itself to a better learning experience for caregivers.
