Getting to know Alexis Rubin

Alexis Rubin is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples and families. She has worked extensively in the neonatal intensive care setting, supporting families whose infants have a myriad of diagnoses and medical needs. Alexis also has extensive experience working with parents during the perinatal period, through grief and loss, as well as through life’s transitions. Alexis specializes in helping people cope with internal and external stressors. She does so by creating a safe space to build a strong therapeutic relationship. She is an active listener who provides a compassionate approach to her clients’ needs. Through trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TB-CBT) and other supportive modalities, she helps clients skillfully manage anxiety and depression. Alexis received her masters at the University of Maryland and has advanced training through Postpartum Support International. Alexis lives in Washington, DC with her husband and two children. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, being by the water and traveling.
