Maybe someone who you will laugh with, cry with, and be challenged by? Well, I’m your girl! We all want to be understood and heard. It is a basic human necessity for healing. I do my best to cultivate an environment where you can be open and honest about the struggles you are facing. I will never judge you for anything you are going through because we are all human and dealing with the human experience.
Hi there! My name is Alexis Skopos, and I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida who specializes in Brainspotting, life transition, first time therapy clients, and Greek American clients. I have been described as having a "full personality". I use humor, compassion, and challenging to get you to your therapy goals!
I graduated from Stetson University with a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in clinical mental health counseling. I have a certification in multiple Brainspotting practices, trauma informed CBT, trauma informed ACT, Gottman couple's counseling, and Prepare/ Enrich. I also have experience working in residential units, crisis units, high schools, child welfare, and methadone clinics.
What should a new client know about working with you?
For our first session, it will be going over logistics and then diving into getting to know you! From there, sessions will start with a check in from the previous session, addressing any immediate concerns, and then diving into skills!

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I honestly have been feeling so hopeless and lost lately. I felt a sense of that I don’t recognize myself anymore. Meeting with Alexis has been the first time I’ve felt a sense of hope and confidence that I can once again regain my sense of self, ground myself and I’m grateful for the hope I feel just after one session. She listened to me and I felt herd for the first time in a long time. I’m looking forward to the future once again and working with her to come to know myself again, which I’ve lost over the last few years.

I have to take a moment to speak on Alexis she has truly been such a blessing for me on my path to success through therapy. I am so grateful to how attentive she is, and how much she truly cares about my progress and success!!! I know that I have to put in the work but it really makes a difference when you have someone who cares on your side guiding and cheering you on, and shedding light on things I may not see on my own. I am truly touched by the care that Alexis has given me throughout this process!!!! Kudos to you and keep doing the work that you do the world needs people like you!!!

I feel so fortunate to have had Alexis guiding my therapy for the past couple of years. The rapport we have makes it so easy and comfortable to share whatever I'm going through now and to reflect on things that have happened in the past that can be difficult to rehash. She is empathic and kind but also intuitive and makes a safe environment/asks the right questions to foster self discovery, enlightenment and self care/love. I wouldn't trade her!

Alexis is very thoughtful,compassionate, and truly cares about her job. She is very attentive and always was engaged. I never felt rushed or judged.
As a male I was hesitant to seek counseling. Seeing Alexis has helped me change my life for the better. You can talk to her about anything and that is very comforting.
I know when my stressors are peaking I’ll be back to see her again!

Alexis really cares about her clients and I could see this when I was treated. She is very empathetic and understanding. I really felt like I was being treated by someone who cared about me and my life. I have spent a ton of time trying different providers with a lot of challenging experiences. Alexis is amazing and I am so glad I found her!

Alexis provides a much needed safe space to be able to discuss what is going on in my life. I really feel like she listened with compassion and empathy and always made an effort to understand exactly what I was going through. I quickly built a trusted relationship with her that helped me to work through a series of emotional obstacles that brought me to therapy in the first place. I came away with a clear set of tools to manage my mental and emotional wellbeing, and I feel a lot stronger and happier since starting this process.
