Hi there, I'm Alfred! My years of experience and research-based therapy practices help the client to regain control over their situations and find solutions that meet their goals. You are the expert on you, and you deserve respect and compassion without judgment, no matter the situation. I provide a wide variety of counseling, and my specialties are pornography addiction, marriage and relationship issues, including pre-marriage; anxiety, grief, and stress; Christian issues and church wounding; abusive relationships; and cancer issues. I am a seminary graduate and also provide Christian-based therapy. My approach I am not a fuzzy sweatered therapist who is going to ask you, “How does that make you feel?” I prefer a relaxed and encouraging setting that is still solution-focused. I will listen to what you have to say and receive your thoughts and perceptions. You are the expert on you. Counseling should never be a cookie-cutter approach since every situation is very different. Therapy is an environment of mutual work between the therapist and the client to find a solution that is agreeable to the client. My focus I serve adult clients, regardless of age, sex, religion, culture, or orientation. I have seen clients from all around the world and all socioeconomic statuses. I have a variety of work and life experiences that integrate with research-based therapies. No one type of therapy works for every client, therefore, the therapy model for each client may be very different. My communication style I am an active listener who will hear what you have to say and validate the reasons for your feelings. I am open and honest and will answer any questions that you might have, because how can I have you be open if I’m not? I have a calm demeanor and do not shy away from anything presented in therapy, even extreme situations. My journey to mental healthcare My wife and I first began counseling in 2002. We were experiencing a great deal of marital strife and sought God.
