Alice Magnusson, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello, there! I am Alice Hamlin-Magnusson, MA, LMFT, PPSC, and I absolutely love what I do. As a therapist, I am not working; I am doing what I genuinely enjoy, which is learning about you and what you would like your life to look like. Please feel free to reach out to me to set up a free phone consultation. I believe that not every therapist will jive with every client, so it is important both that you feel comfortable and safe with me and that I feel I can meet your needs therapeutically. I look forward to getting to know you better! My approach Therapy is unique to each individual, and I am ready with open ears to meet you where you are and take you forward in your life in a way that is safe and comfortable for YOU. You get to tell me where you would like to go, and I will draw a map to how we get there together. I believe in trust and building an atmosphere in which you can be honest without fear of judgment or biases. I will be unconditionally supportive of your journey while also keeping you out of harm's way. My focus I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from National University and bring 16 years of experience working with various groups of individuals in therapeutic settings. I have run the gamut of the mental health field (e.g., educational settings, group homes, prisons, inpatient facilities), and in doing so, have found that my strengths lie in working with the LGBTQ population, as I am a member of the community, survivors of trauma, eating disorders, self-harm, mood disorders, personality disorders, and substance abuse. I work very well with teenagers, having spent much of my career supporting them. My communication style I like to create a relaxed, friendly environment in sessions where you are free to be exactly who you are. My clients often say they feel comfortable telling me anything because they can tell I do not judge them but will keep them safe and support their goals in treatment.
