Alicia Broadus-Duckworth, LCSW

Psychotherapist
VA
Hi there, I'm Alicia! Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change. My focus I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, solution focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, and person-centered techniques to work with individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or struggling to manage life’s challenges. My approach My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative and client-centered. I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe, supported and genuinely understood. My communication style My approach is rooted in active listening, empathy, and genuine connection. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable sharing openly without fear of judgment. During sessions, I listen closely to what is being said, and to the emotions, patterns, and experiences underneath the surface that may be impacting your well-being. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to the mental health field through a deep passion for helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I have always valued meaningful human connection and recognized the impact that compassion, understanding, and emotional support can have on a person’s healing and growth. My goals for you I believe therapy is most effective when it is collaborative and guided by goals that are meaningful to you. At the beginning of treatment, we will work together to identify what you hope to gain from therapy. Therapy is not a rigid process, and I regularly check in with clients to ensure our work continues to reflect their evolving needs. Our first session The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a therapeutic relationship.
