I provide trauma-informed therapy for individuals, children, adolescents, and families in Utah. My approach is attachment-based, neurodiversity-affirming, skills-based, and culturally responsive. I work with clients navigating emotional regulation challenges, behavioral concerns, school-related stress, identity development, family stress, and the impacts of trauma. I aim to create a therapy space where clients feel safe, respected, and understood. I believe meaningful change happens through connection, curiosity, and practical support. My work balances warmth with skill-building, helping clients better understand their emotions, strengthen relationships, and develop tools they can use in daily life. I earned my Master of Social Work from Hawaiʻi Pacific University and completed advanced interdisciplinary training in autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities as a LEND Scholar. My background also includes work connected to Native Hawaiian health programs, positive psychology, toxic stress reduction, and holistic well-being. These experiences continue to shape my commitment to equity, cultural humility, and care that honors each client’s unique strengths, context, and lived experience.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Many people come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, unsure how to explain what is happening, or worried that their struggles are “too much.” My goal is to meet you with warmth, respect, and curiosity. I work collaboratively with clients and families to understand what has been difficult, what patterns may be getting in the way, and what strengths are already present. I try to create a space that feels supportive and grounded, while also helping clients move toward meaningful change. My style is calm, engaged, and gently challenging when that is helpful. I value transparency, collaboration, and practical tools that fit real life. Depending on your needs, our work may focus on emotional regulation, trauma, family stress, school-related concerns, behavioral challenges, identity development, neurodiversity-related needs, or building more supportive relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I usually begin by getting to know your story, your strengths, your concerns, and what you hope will be different through therapy. Early sessions often focus on understanding what has been difficult, what support has or has not helped in the past, and what goals feel most important to you or your family. From there, we work together to create a plan that is practical, respectful, and responsive to your needs. Sessions may include emotional regulation strategies, skill-building, trauma-informed support, family systems work, identity exploration, parent or caregiver collaboration, and developmentally appropriate interventions. My process is structured but flexible. I want therapy to feel safe and collaborative, while also helping you build tools that support change outside of sessions. My goal is to support sustainable growth in a way that honors your context, culture, nervous system, relationships, and lived experience.
