Getting to know Alicia (Lish) Montesa

The provider is supervised by Kendra McLaughlin. I specialize in working with pre-teens, adolescents & young adults, ages 12 - 25. I work with many young people from Conroe, Magnolia, Montgomery, and Willis regions. I find my work rewarding and consider it a privilege to support others through life events, difficult relationships, identity exploration, and mixed emotions. Many of my clients seek help working through academic pressure, anger, anxiety, depression, body image challenges, communication issues, and substance use. The goal is simply to find a route to better, more manageable days. If you are in need of support yourself or are seeking help for a loved one, reach out. It's much easier to take another step forward with someone by your side versus solo. I strive to offer a comfortable space to connect, where clients are free to be their genuine selves.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In-person therapy sessions take place at my therapy space in Lake Conroe. I also offer horse/equine-assisted therapy sessions, as well as "walk and talk" therapy at Inspiration Ranch in Magnolia. Virtual appointments are available for anyone in TX. I'm curious about relationship and thought patterns of clients, how they may reoccur, and why. I typically apply CBT, DBT, ACT and Family Systems tactics in sessions. I also offer trauma-informed horse-assisted therapy at Inspiration Ranch. I strive to relate to clients and offer a laid-back, comfortable approach encouraging all to be themselves.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A short consult call helps to introduce us to one another and I can share how I feel I may be able to support you or a loved one to healing. After, I schedule an intake session to collect background information on my client. These typically run about 60 - 75 mins. Next, we collaborate on the treatment plan and goals, which can evolve with time. Then we are ready to start 50 min. therapy sessions - either in an office, in a pasture with horses, walking at a park or ranch, or online.

Ongoing session: $125 for 50 minutes

Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
