“I love working with Alicia. Things have gotten off to a slow start. It takes a bit of time for a new therapist to dive into all the background, so each session feels like we aren't covering that much. I'll see how it goes in the coming weeks. All is well.”

Getting to know Alicia Santiago

Hi there, I'm Alicia. Are you feeling lost or stuck in some aspect of your life and finding it hard to move forward? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? With your permission, I help to hold the container for deeper exploration and healing. I am a trauma-based therapist trained in EMDR, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I hold a Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University. I believe that each of us possesses an internal source of wisdom that can be cultivated through psychotherapy, psychedelic medicines, meditation practices, yoga, and other connecting practices that link the brain, body, and spirit. My therapeutic approach has a foundation of mindfulness and compassion, curiosity, and respect. I often use EMDR as an evidence-based approach to working with trauma and to support healing from difficult experiences. I am sensitive to the impact of one’s social, physical, and cultural environment as well as systems of oppression. My approach is warm, relational, collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I offer a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive container. It is an honor to support you on your journey. I cannot do the work for you, but I can help you along the way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

After an initial intake and learning more about each other, we will talk about next steps, and schedule a time to meet regularly. I may conduct more assessments if we are to begin EMDR. I see clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I feel seen, heard and safe. Excellent communication about what to expect.

I've only had a few session so far with Alicia but I have already learned a lot about my self with her help. She guides me in understanding my thoughts and emotions. I can feel the sincerity with each session I have with her. I do see improvement with my self little by little using her techniques and advice. It was rather easy opening up to her because she gives a very welcoming aura. She's also goal oriented and intelligent.
She's great
She is very intelligent and open minded highly empathetic person with a wide variety of clinical and personal world experience to draw on. I've had multiple therapists and she has made me feel like I can become the best version of me possible. She balances the social model and the medical model of disability perfectly. Yes. many of us develop certain mental health conditions due to our environment, but you wouldn't blame your foot for breaking if someone dropped something heavy on it. Likewise with mental health conditions. She has helped me identify the strength in my own suffering and my ability to use that strength to help others, without using it as a justification or minimizing the unjust nature of bad things happening in my past. She has helped me see the beauty and strength in my neurodivergence while helping me treat the pain and disabling parts of it. Highly recommended!
