Hi there, I'm Alisha! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Savannah, Georgia, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Lehman College, CUNY. I specialize in depression, addiction, grief, trauma, and perinatal mental health, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to help clients progress so they can start feeling better. My approach to therapy varies depending on the client's needs, and sometimes an integrative approach is used as well. However, I mostly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing as the primary treatment methods in my practice. I find my approach benefits adults who are ready to navigate some of their past traumas or experiences that are likely impacting their lives currently. My communication style is calm and accommodating, allowing space for clients to build trust and communicate openly without feeling judged. From an early age, I knew I wanted to be in the helping profession. I was always a very observant child, curious about why so much oppression existed in the world. I wanted to be an agent of change for those negatively impacted by circumstance. I have worked with individuals in extreme circumstances, such as active addiction, homelessness, prostitution, and incarcerated individuals serving 25 to life. Through this work, I quickly became aware of what trauma is, how it can take control over someone's life, and how treating trauma can help someone regain that control.
