Getting to know Alison Shea

SPECIALTIES: Relationship Issues, Self-Esteem, Sex & Intimacy, Spirituality, Anxiety, Depression. Rewire your brain to improve your mental health and relationships. Do you feel like you're repeating the same conflicts or unhealthy behaviors over and over again? Have you tried to change only to see old habits creep back in, despite your best efforts? I am a brain-based therapist with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University. I integrate knowledge of neuroscience to help clients rewire their brains and improve their mental health.

What should a new client know about working with you?

COUPLES THERAPY - Heal recurring conflicts, codependency, emotional disconnect, and sexual challenges. - Develop healthy communication, trust, and profound emotional & physical intimacy. You and your partner will co-create a relationship founded on deep love and a restored sense of playfulness and connection. By addressing the underlying causes that lead to dysfunction, gridlocked problems will be eliminated. INDIVIDUAL THERAPY - Process and release trauma, transform negative core beliefs, and replace unhealthy coping mechanisms with loving behaviors. - Explore your emotions while building skills to regulate and communicate them effectively. You will understand your relationships better and how to be a more loving partner, friend, and family member. I use an attachment-focused lens to help clients release outdated relationship habits so they can cultivate fulfilling connections.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to therapy is compassionate, holistic and solution-focused. Instead of focusing solely on the problem, we focus on what it is you truly want and how to get there. I have healed from severe trauma, addiction, and loss, and now live a life of deep peace and joy. I can help you do the same.

Going to therapy was one of the last things i was willing to try to get better. I knew there were benefits of therapy but was unwilling to try for a very long time. Once I started, I began to enjoy our appointments and it became something I would even look forward to. These sessions helped me get to a better spot mentally, I highly recommend Allison.
I can't recommend Alison highly enough. As a first-time therapy patient, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but she made the entire experience incredibly comfortable. Alison has a remarkable ability to break things down in a way that made sense to me, giving me the new perspective I needed. She not only helped me better understand my thoughts and emotions but also helped me develop tools that I could apply in my daily life. My experience with Alison has been genuinely life-changing, and I’m so grateful for her guidance. If you're looking for a provider who is not only knowledgeable but also deeply compassionate and easy to connect with, I wholeheartedly recommend her.
We went to couples therapy with Alison Shea and felt very comfortable and safe to talk through our concerns. She was able to give us the tools to work through things in a meaningful way. She is a great listener and very intelligent. We sadly had to end our time with her a little sooner due to financial issues, but Alison would be the first person I'd call if I needed a therapist again.
My partner and I did several sessions with Allison and she was incredibly warm and helpful. We learned lots of new strategies for better communication as we explored the root causes of tensions in our relationship. We are super grateful for the tools she was able to share with us and use many of them to this day!
