Alison Webster, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with children, youth, and adults for the past eleven years. My background is special needs case management and parenting as a school social worker. My "why" when I think about my work is this: listening to clients' stories and sitting with them on their path to building resiliency. I believe the client knows themselves and their strengths. I sit by and guide them to build insight about how they want to make changes for personal growth. I champion my clients as they build their capacity for vulnerability to develop their authentic selves. I consider it a huge privilege to do this very important work. My approach My strengths as a provider are the following: to be able to communicate about my skill set, and for you to expect to be treated with respect and positive regard. I want my clients to leave the session feeling validated and better understood than when they came to the session. My focus I work with clients who experience challenges in their lives: the onset of depression, anxiety, those dealing with a loss of a loved one, those who have parenting challenges, and job or relationship stress, to name a few. I also have experience with clients adjusting to divorce, school stress, or changes in friendships. My communication style In the first session, we will discuss what brought you to seek help and your expectations of the therapeutic process. I will explain to you what informed consent is and ask if you have any questions. I will discuss how communication with me works in-between sessions and discuss how many sessions I believe may be required. I want my clients to feel at ease with me, as I believe in unconditional positive regard.
