Allison Gartman, LCSW

Psychotherapist
FL
Hi there, I'm Allison! My name is Allison Gartman, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, seeing clients from all over the state via telehealth! I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I work with clients of all ages but specialize in those dealing with relationship complications (both with partners and family members), anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I meet clients where they are at and encourage positive growth through a holistic approach. My approach While my approach to therapy is catered to the client, I most frequently use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients recognize how their thoughts and feelings play a role in their lives while moving toward a more positive future. My focus I have spent time working with various populations but have found that my goal-setting and encouragement toward holistic health (mind, body, and spirit) is a good fit for those seeking marriage or family counseling, assistance navigating relationships, or support through major life transitions. Clients have also appreciated my knowledge of physical health, which allows me to work with those who have a recent diagnosis or are managing health complications. My communication style My communication style is positive, encouraging, and open. When you attend a session with me, you will find someone who will not judge you and is there to support you. My journey to mental healthcare I always knew I wanted to be a social worker and have enjoyed roles that expanded my knowledge of various populations. I chose therapy because I am interested in long-term relationships with my clients, allowing them the time they need to fully reach their goals. I enjoy listening to people and thinking about how I can help them, and therapy has been a wonderful avenue for my career and, hopefully, for my clients as well!
