Hi there, I'm Allison! Hello! My name is Allison Jones. I?m an independent social worker who enjoys helping others process their past, work within their strengths, and live a resilient life. I hold a Master?s in Social Work from The Ohio State University and have training in Christian Counseling, EMDR, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed practices. My approach I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy, Christian faith integration, and strengths-based techniques to help clients understand their thoughts, behavior, spheres of control, and goals. My focus I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have over 15 years in the field working with behavioral disorders, parenting issues, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. My communication style I balance empathetic listening and humor to help clients feel comfortable and heard. I challenge clients to overcome habits or thought patterns that don?t serve them, aligned with their goals. I always start sessions by asking what has gone well and what hasn?t since our last meeting, so we can celebrate the good and process the challenges together. My journey to mental healthcare It?s a family joke that people share their lives with me everywhere I go?at the grocery store, church, airport, or while running my children to activities. I believe God has equipped me to listen and help people write new chapters in their stories, which has been a pleasure. My goals for you I want clients to envision what their life will look like after completing work with me?what will be different in their relationships, family, employment, faith, etc. Then I help set scaffolded goals to move toward this desired future.
