Allison is a licensed clinical psychotherapist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults as they cope with and adjust to difficult and everyday life challenges. She has extensive experience treating autism and developmental disorders, anxiety disorders, abuse, depression, behavioral challenges, impulse control/oppositional defiance, self-image/self-harm, and trauma. Allison completed her Master's Degree in Social Work from Monmouth University with a concentration in clinical practice with families and children.
Allison's approach to therapy is client-centered and solution-focused. She uses therapeutic modalities and research-based clinical interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to assist her clients with the tools needed to reframe their thought processes. Allison has a thorough understanding of how sensory play can assist in addressing the social, emotional, and physical effects of trauma in children. She is also skilled in de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques. Allison provides empathetic support and validation, constructive feedback, and continuous psychoeducation to maximize her clients' potential to achieve their personal goals.
