“She is really easy to speak to. I feel she understands me even though I have a hard time expressing myself and putting everything into words. She always has something to relate to whatever it is I'm speaking about which makes me feel less alone. She has lots of information about other sources to look into between sessions.”

Getting to know Allyson Yarsinske

Feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and exhausted constantly? Isolated and alone because you don’t want to burden your friends or family with your problems? Or maybe you don’t know quite how to name why you feel this way or how to talk about it. Well, there is good news - therapy is the place to explore these challenging thoughts and feelings. I’ve worked in mental health since 2016, helping people of all ages, backgrounds, and challenges. I approach mental health challenges with a holistic mindset to help identify what we can change, inside of our control, and increase resilience. Depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma are a few examples of mental health struggles that impact how we live and experience the world. However, the opposite is also true! Because our lifestyles can influence our ability to tolerate stress and feel good about ourselves. My job as a therapist is to help you identify what is working, and what isn't working, and what we can do about it. I believe in us working as a team and supporting you in achieving your goals, so you can reconnect with your inner strength, resilience, and confidence to manage life's challenging ebbs and flows. Why choose me? Well, to help me feel less like a stranger, here is more detail about my background: My M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is from Lenoir Rhyne University's Graduate Center of Asheville, NC in Dec. 2020. I hold a B.S. in Psychology from Longwood University in Farmville, VA. I'm a Qualified Mental Health Professional with 5.5 years of direct care experience with teens in residential treatment. My graduate internship was community & school-based outpatient therapy with Access Family Services. August 2021 to March 2024, I was an outpatient therapist, in-person and virtual, with the center for emotional health.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As we get started in our work together, there are 2 things I will focus on 1) creating a safe space through honest, direct communication, empathy, and acceptance. 2) fostering and nurturing curiosity towards your inner experiences, relationships with others, and the world around you. These are foundational to the work we will do together. Expect to feel, at times, uncomfortable and difficult emotions. Know I will be present to support you through them as it is a normal part of the process - after all, discomfort precedes change. I can't "fix" you but I can help you understand what that means to you. There are no shortcuts to feeling better or processing trauma, we have to be willing and open to facing the hard stuff - which we can do together.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Ally is an amazing therapist, she's very understanding and creates such a safe space for you discuss anything and everything.
Her help is without measure. Having someone to truly hear your concerns and fears. She is amazing. I am truly grateful.
Ally is a wonderful therapist, I think I just needed someone different for my needs.
She is a great conversationalist and has a knack for noticing things I haven't.
She is really easy to speak to. I feel she understands me even though I have a hard time expressing myself and putting everything into words. She always has something to relate to whatever it is I'm speaking about which makes me feel less alone. She has lots of information about other sources to look into between sessions.
Thought provoking!
I was only allowed to pick two styles that best describes Ally’s therapy style. It was a hard decision since she uses almost all of them. Ally makes you feel so comfortable during the sessions.
I think that a little more structure could be beneficial. Maybe asking some questions directly instead of "what would you like to talk about today?"
Ms. Yarsinske has helped me a great deal in overcoming obstacles and challenges. I look forward to our sessions and the way she helps me see things in a different perspective. Her open mindedness allows me to talk freely about my alternative lifestyle without feeling ashamed or judged.
I would select more options, as Ally posseses many of the qualities above. She is extremely smart, thinks outside the box, direct and solution oriented. She does this all with a very direct and warm personality. All this and more makes me feel fortunate to have Ally as a Therapist.
Really great!
