Getting to know Alyce Botwinick

Hi there, I'm Alyce! My name is Alyce Botwinick. I am an LCSW practicing Telehealth in California, which allows me to work with clients anywhere in the state. I earned my Master?s in Social Work from San Diego State University. I find that using a Psychodynamic approach helps clients explore and identify problematic behavior patterns as well as negativity biases. Offering practices based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindful Awareness enables my clients to learn strategies to better understand themselves, build healthier relationships, and become more resilient. My approach By combining techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindful Awareness, and Relational Therapy, I provide the most effective treatment tailored to each individual client, partner, and family member. My clients feel empowered with the courage to face their own suffering and supported in writing a new narrative. Examples of this in sessions include teaching clients to challenge negative thoughts, helping them establish healthy boundaries, and fostering forgiveness and self-compassion. My focus My clients have been my greatest teachers. My strength lies in helping people identify the stories they have created that keep them stuck in patterns of negative thoughts and beliefs. I have had the most success supporting those suffering from anxiety, fear, grief, and self-doubt. Learning to trust themselves, cultivate patience, and practice forgiveness supports my clients? growth and confidence. My communication style I communicate in an engaged, compassionate, and supportive way. Clients have told me they feel safe and supported in our sessions, comfortable sharing openly and honestly, knowing I will not judge them. My journey to therapy I love what I do! I have always been interested in learning about people and finding ways to build connections. Early in my career, I worked in foster care and adoptions, designing treatment plans and providing counseling and parent education.
