Hi there, I'm Alyce! My name is Alyce Martin, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in the State of Texas. I earned my Master's in Psychology from the University of Houston. I work with clients throughout the state via telehealth, serving adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. I use several different treatment modalities tailored to each client's unique needs. My approach The way we approach therapy depends on your needs and comfort level. In most cases, we begin with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and psychoeducation. I want all my clients to feel empowered and understand their diagnosis, compounding issues, and how treatment will progress. I also incorporate EMDR, narrative therapy, somatic therapy, and solution-focused therapy into my sessions. My focus Most of my clients are dealing with trauma and PTSD. I have a strong affinity for working with those who have experienced childhood physical, emotional, or sexual abuse; domestic violence; sexual assault; or other traumatic events. My goal is to help clients move through their trauma and toward a more fulfilling life. My communication style I want my clients to feel safe and heard in our sessions. Building a trusting relationship is very important to me, and I want clients to know they will never be judged. They can share whatever they need to say, and together we will work through it. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been in the helping industry in one way or another. I chose this career because helping people overcome some of the toughest events in their lives is a lifelong calling for me. What drives me is seeing my clients regain their strength and become empowered in their own lives.
