I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MA) who works with adults navigating emotional overwhelm, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where we can explore what's going on and begin making meaningful changes. My approach is person-centered and DBT-informed, focusing on both insight and practical tools to help you better understand your emotions, improve communication, and build healthier relationships.

Getting to know Alyssa Champion

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MA) who works with adults navigating emotional overwhelm, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Many of my clients feel stuck in patterns they don't fully understand. Whether that's intense emotions, difficulty in relationships, or repeating the same cycles. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where we can explore what's going on and begin making meaningful changes. My approach is person-centered and DBT-informed, focusing on both insight and practical tools to help you better understand your emotions, improve communication, and build healthier relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, and focused on real change. I'm warm, while gently challenging patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while also validating how difficult those patterns can be to change. My work is especially helpful for clients who feel emotionally overwhelmed, struggle in relationships, or notice repeating cycles they want to break. I often incorporate DBT-informed skills, so you may learn tools for managing emotions, handling stress, and improving communication alongside deeper conversations about your experiences.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we'll talk through what's bringing you in, what you've been struggling with, and what you'd like to change. I'll ask some questions to understand your history and patterns so we can identify where to focus. Ongoing sessions are tailored to your goals. Some days we'll process emotions and experiences, and other days we'll focus on practical tools, especially if you're dealing with intense emotions or relationship difficulties. I'll check in regularly on your progress and adjust our work as needed so therapy feels helpful, not stagnant.
