Alyssa McCarley, LPC

Alyssa McCarley, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my profile. I have experience working as a first and last responder for both busy and rural systems. I transitioned to mental health from the ambulance and morgue in order to better serve my community. I have worked with those involved with the criminal justice system and believe a sense of humor is vital. My approach I believe in collaborative relationships, but also intend to hold you accountable for achieving the goals that you have set. My style is more eclectic with a focus on CPT as well as Schema, based on client need, though. My focus I have worked on an ambulance, in crisis systems, and in prisons. I do best with working with those who seek to overcome trauma or simply discuss the burnout and stressors involved in the day-to-day life you lead. My communication style I prefer a direct approach with minimal "fluff." My journey to mental healthcare During my time on the box, I noticed the need for services for my people in the field. Minimal fluff, direct communication, and an understanding of the role, risk, stress, and work. I transitioned to a morgue, then applied to grad school. I've worked in crisis roles, with clients in the criminal justice system, and in prisons within Texas. My goals for you Let's just discuss what your life looks like and how it can be better, and go from there. I'll point out things that I notice that may be blocking that life, and we can go from there in determining how, if you want, to address that. My first session with you We'll get to know one another during our initial session. I'll get a bit of your life story and what it is that led you to my "office" and you'll get an idea of different ways that we can approach things to determine if the therapeutic relationship is a good fit.
