Alyssa Thermos, LCSW, is committed to helping individuals with a wide range of mental health needs. She is caring, non-judgmental, and uses empathetic listening and humor to support clients in facing emotional challenges and promoting personal growth.
Alyssa earned her undergraduate degree from St. Norbert College and a Master's in Social Work from Simmons University. She works with teens and adults dealing with various challenges, including trauma, interpersonal relationships and communication, and LGBTQIA+ needs.
In therapy, Alyssa employs CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Art Therapy, and other techniques to help clients achieve their goals. She understands that every client has a story and is dedicated to exploring what brought them to this point and how to support their healing and growth.

In general, I believe Ms. Thermos overall just listened. She did not provide anything insightful. She listened and sometimes was distracted by the window/train/ anything. She felt as though just another friend you would vent to, but one that became easily distracted as if she was preoccupied with something else on her mind. At my most vulnerable moment, I did not feel as though I was cared for or taken seriously. She had mentioned that she does not write anything during sessions because she has a good memory. But in our next sessions, she would inaccurately recall things I had said and it made me feel unworthy of being remembered or prepared for by a therapist. I believe the therapists at Life Stance honestly attend to their clients/and book them quickly just for a paycheck. They do not necessarily try to provide anything for your benefit. They listen, but that is all. I had to consistently ask the two therapists I attended at Life Stance to say something, anything at all. Not a good experience at Life Stance at all. I have found a much better organization that includes such helpful therapists that truly make a difference instantly. Life Stance, you were no help at all, but thank you for showing me the bare minimum.
