Alyssa Proulx Bostrom, LPC

Alyssa Proulx Bostrom, LPC

Psychotherapist
209 E Plum St., Fort Collins, CO
*This provider is entirely private pay & not in-network with any insurance agencies* I specialize in working with PTSD and trauma, depression, body image concerns, sexuality, and identity. I use an integrative, embodiment-based approach rooted in relational connection and exploring personal narratives that shape how we relate to ourselves and others. My hope is to cultivate growth and healing by reconnecting to the parts of ourselves that have been lost or silenced, deepening our sense of secure attachment, and moving toward emotions and sensations that guide us to our authentic selves. Some research-backed modalities that often show up in my work include Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and completed an internship at the Child Trauma and Resilience Assessment Center at Colorado State University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I highly value providing services that are social justice-oriented, trauma-informed, and LGBTQIA+ affirming. My practice aligns with Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size (HAES) principles for body image and disordered eating concerns. I offer EMDR both in person and virtually.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will spend time getting to know one another, exploring your goals and concerns, and working together to create a space that will best support your growth and healing. No two people are alike, so your counseling will be tailored to match your unique needs and wants for therapy.
