Psychotherapist

Hello, I'm Alyssa! I received my Master’s in Addiction Counseling from CSU and have had the privilege of working in a variety of treatment settings, including inpatient programs, substance use rehab, and outpatient individual and group therapy. While my initial training was primarily in addiction counseling, my journey has led me to work with a much wider range of mental health concerns. Nowadays, I frequently work with adults who are navigating attachment and relationship issues, trauma, alcohol or drug use, and ADHD. I firmly believe that major life experiences and relationships significantly impact our mental health. This belief shapes my approach to therapy, where I often focus on attachment and trauma, using techniques from various models to best fit your individual needs. You are the expert on your own life, so I encourage you to take the lead in our sessions. I understand that therapy can be a long and sometimes scary journey, so I strive to be as transparent as possible. If you ever feel awkward talking to a stranger, don't like an intervention I used, or are hesitant about therapy in general, let's talk about it! Therapy, to me, is about using self-discovery to create a more comfortable and fulfilling life. In our first few sessions, I'll spend time getting to know you and collaborating to develop goals for our work together. We may then process your past or current experiences to identify underlying emotions, beliefs, or behaviors. I aim to end each session with a concrete action, whether it's reflecting on a behavior pattern we've identified or trying a new skill, to help you continue healing even outside of our sessions. If you're ready to embark on this journey of self-discovery and healing, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Let's work together to create the life you deserve.
