Hello, my name is Amal Shaheen and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from University of California Riverside and completed my Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University. Life can bring many challenges that feel overwhelming and hopeless. The decision to change takes courage and I am passionate about being a part of your journey towards self improvement and to help provide support through my 10 years of experience as a therapist. I have worked with clients from a variety of different ethnic backgrounds, religions and sexual orientations. I have extensive experience working with issues such as depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship concerns, and many other challenges life may bring. I know there is not one solution that is helpful for everyone which is why I am trained in variety of interventions which include: Cognitive behavioral therapy, Dialectical behavioral therapy, humanistic approach, solution-focused counseling, and the Gottman Method for couples counseling. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental environment for you to process and work through your current concerns. I look forward to working with you.
